1. If there are no local agents, you might want to pass on the company. The agent will be your life line if you ever need to make a claim.

2. Do a Google search or internet search of some kind. Look for disgruntled claims and follow up. Invariably there are problems in life.

3. It will help to get several other opinions of the place before you sign your name on the dotted line.

4. Use the online search, but then follow up with phone calls directly to the company.

Taking the time to compare car insurance will be a big saver in the end. Not only will it save you money, but it could save you a great amount of hassle when the time comes to file a claim.
